1080MAP™

1080process2

What is 1080MAP?

It is the only three-dimensional testing system of functional movement patterns that is validated, reliability tested, standardized, measurable, systemized, web-based and that provides powerful insights about performance and asymmetries.

Through this unique knowledge you will be able to understand how the different joints, muscles and systems of your body function as a whole and therefore you will be more likely to find the real cause of pain and/or lack of performance. With 1080MAP™ you will be able to design individualized and effective rehabilitation and training programs with quick and measurable results.

1080MAP™ can be described in three steps:

Assess

Systematic combination and measurement of movement patterns in standing positions to quantify function. Quantification of mobility, stability, strength, power, endurance and performance.

Analyze

Scores of different tests are combined and directly linked to each other to create unique individual profiles. All profiles reflect physical performance, identify physical limitations and hidden potential.

Optimize

1080MAP™ results in highly specific and individualized treatment and training programs that will optimize functional performance.

LEVELS

There are three levels of 1080MAP™ that build upon each other: 1080 Movement, 1080 Transformation and 1080 Performance.

1080 Movement

The foundation of any human movement and physical performance is mobility and stability. At the first level of 1080MAP the goal of testing is to determine your stable ”mobility sphere”.

1080 Transformation

The next level tests will be conducted on strength, power, speed and endurance. All of these tests are directly linked and based upon the 1080 Movement tests.

1080 Performance

Detailed testing of running, hitting, throwing, jumping and quick changes of direction. This leads to a greater understanding of the different parts that make up physical performance. These tests with the resulting profiles are analyzed together with 1080 Movement and 1080 Transformation profiles.

RESEARCH

1080MAP™ is currently being validated by Ola Eriksrud and colleagues at The Norwegian School of Sport Science. Preliminary data was presented at the ICSports Congress September 2013 in Portugal.Innovation Norway has supported components of the testing system, which has been of great help.

INNOVATION AWARD

WE ARE VERY PROUD TO HAVE RECEIVED THE CITY OF STOCKHOLM SCHOLARSHIP IN THE CATEGORY LIFE SCIENCES FOR OUR TEST SYSTEM ON MOVEMENT PATTERNS.

Motivation as follows:

Innovation Award

“There is an increasing interest in how technology and methods can improve training and rehabilitation through a need to improve performance, prevent injuries, and if necessary, find the cause of pain. To measure a sitting person on a bench performing a leg kick in one plane of motion is easy. However, it is difficult to link such a measurement to a performance in areas such as football. There is however a unique solution to test movement patterns in three different planes of motion. That way, you gain numerous possibilities to tie together mobility, stability and strength in one form of performance. This leads to better results in less time. With a conceptual mat as a starting point can the innovation be used by physical therapists and trainers and at the same time be of great help for rehab patients as well as professional athletes.”

Stockholm’s Innovation Scholarship 2012, Life Sciences category, go to:

Jessica Parnevik-Muth, Ola Eriksrud and Ali Ghelem for innovation “Test systems for movement patterns.”
